You can check your child's eligibility for funding at www.childcarechoices.gov.uk You can also request further information at The Families Information Service
To register your child please call on 07759 704170 check the availability of places, arrange a visit and to complete a registration form.
You can see what we get up to in our pre school by visiting our Facebook page here. We also have a closed Parent Facebook Page which you will be invited to join once your child has started with us.
Settling-In
Once you have registered your child we offer settling-in sessions, you are welcome to stay with your child for as many sessions as is needed to make sure they feel completely happy and settled with us. We will use this time to really get to know your child and family and for finding out about your child's interests. All this information will allow us to consider a starting point for your child's development. Click here for our parent information booklet.
Tracking Your Child's Progress
Our Pre-school has chosen to use practice guidance as set out in ‘Development Matters’ showing the likely stages of progress a child makes along their learning journey towards the early learning goals at the end of reception year. During your child's time with us we will plan activities to support your child's learning based on their own interests and topics and themes that we may cover altogether. Through these activities we will make observations and make judgments on your child's development based around the seven areas of learning set out in Development Matters and the three Characteristics of Effective Learning (How your child learns). We will record this information using an Online Learning Journal called Tapestry.
Tapestry is an easy-to-use interactive online learning journal, which helps us and parents to record, track and celebrate children's progress. You will be given a password to log in to your child's unique learning journal and be able to see what your child has been achieving with us at Bramblebrook. You will also be able to update us with information from home.
At the end of each term a summative assessment will be made and next steps for your child's development will be recommended along with suggestions you can do at home.
We also assess speech and language development using the Every Child a Talker programme (ECaT) and physical development using the Every Child a Mover programme (ECaM)
When your child is ready to move on to school or another setting your learning journal can be printed off or emailed to you as a keepsake.
Here at Bramblebrook Pre-School we pride ourselves on the strong links we have with the local primary schools. We welcome teachers into our setting in the Summer Term to meet children moving up and make sure your child's needs are communicated to ensure a smooth transition. Your child will also attend several taster day visits to school.
